Located in the northwest part of the Des Moines metro area, Urbandale is a thriving community with great schools and numerous attractions. Urbandale real estate includes both established neighborhoods and beautiful new developments.
Urbandale has over 850 acres of parks and 33 miles of recreational trails. It is also home to Living History Farms, with the attraction’s Flynn Mansion boasting the recognition of being one of the first homes in Urbandale. The private Urbandale Golf and Country Club is also located in the suburb. Urbandale’s annual 4th of July celebration is one of the largest in the area.
Urbandale is served by the Urbandale Community School District, along with the Johnston Community School District, Dallas Center-Grimes Community School District, West Des Moines School District and Waukee School District. The Urbandale Community School District includes six elementary schools, a middle school and a high school. Two private schools, Des Moines Christian School and St. Pius X Catholic School, are also both in Urbandale.
