Located just about 40 miles northwest of Downtown Des Moines, Perry is known for its close sense of community, quaint atmosphere and diversity. It is located along the North Raccoon River and offers residents and visitors ample opportunities for outdoor activities. The city is also known for the historic Hotel Pattee boutique hotel, with 40 individually decorated rooms. Perry real estate includes both established neighborhoods and acreages.
Perry has five parks and boasts part of both the North Raccoon River Trail and Raccoon River Valley Trail. The community center has an indoor swimming pool and numerous other recreational and meeting facilities. The Carnegie Library Museum is also in Perry.
Perry is served by the Perry Community School District. The district includes an elementary, middle and high school. For private education, Saint Patrick’s Catholic School serves PreK-8th grade students.
